Unfortunately, though this kind of thing is ultimately harmless, if the school has a "zero tolerance" policy, the kids responsible could end up getting kicked out. After all, that thrown burrito is technically a projectile and therefore a weapon and worthy of expulsion.

Wouldn't suprise me. Elementary school kids get in trouble if they bring a squirt gun to school.
