| Pretty self explanitory. Which lead guitarits or lead guitar teams are your favortite in the great genre of thrash past & present? Mine are in no particular order except the first two:
Alex Skolnick Rocky George
These guys went beyond your typical thrash lead guitaritst. While able to play fast they were also able to fill their solos with emotion and passion not found in others. I guess this is what caused them to leave the genre but thankfully Alex returned (I am super stoked to be able to witness his playing live next week :metal: ). Alex also played arguably the greatest guitar solo ever in Return To Serinity. It's a shame Rocky never returned to thrash because he was one of a kind. I tried to listen to Fishbone to hear him again but the music was not my thing.
Other thrash guitarits I like:
Gary Holt/Rick Hunolt (Toxic Waltz is one of my all time favorite thrash solos) Glenn Rogers (now that I have had the opportunity to hear the first two Deliverance masterpieces-the first one being my favorite) George Ochoa (ditto) Ed Carlson/Michael Gilbert Kirk Hammett Robert Gutierrez (Into The Pit is such an awesome guitar solo) Gary Lenaire Aaron Guerra Kerry King/Jeff Hannemen (yeah, sloppy guitar solos but good slop IMO) Dan Spitz Marty Friedman (though I'm not sure you could count the Megadeth albums he played in as thrash except for Rust In Peace) Andreas Kisser Chris Astley/Kristian Havard (Xentrix) Chuck Schuldiner Alex Lee/Juan Boogie (newest additions from Bonded By Blood) |

| Alex Skolnick (was the first that came to mind for me as well.) Robert Gutierrez (Robert is an underrated guitarist IMO) Marty Friedman Larry Farkas Glenn Rogers Mille Petrozza (noisy leads, but I've always dug his style) Dave Linsk _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| Tommy T. Baron (Tommy Vetterli) - Coroner - My favorite by a mile.
Bobby Gustafson
And even though I'm sure I'll get slammed for this one, I've always liked Jeff Hanneman from Slayer. _________________ |

| I'm a little more partial to Jeff Hannemann than Kerry King in terms of versatility, although I like that fact that when a KK solo is on, you know for a fact it's KK.
Gary and Rick from Exodus Marty Friedman Dave Mustaine Mille Petrozza Andreas Kisser
There are a bunch others, these are my 'at the moment' ones. |

| In his prime, Rocky George (Suicidal Tendencies) could smoke just about anybody in thrash. That guy was amazing!
Andreas Kisser (Sepultura) was also pretty damn good when Sep was in its prime (87-91).
George Ochoa (Deliverance/Recon) Dan Lorenzo of Hades could shred too! _________________ "Boys, set the terror level at code brown, 'cause I need to change my pants." -- President Hathaway, "Monsters vs. Aliens"

Easily understandable, as he is a creative in coming up with riffs. I've always seen him as the complete package, though. I like his leads. Short, long, fast, melodic....he plays them all well, and they always fit the song. I'll admit I'm a bit biased, though. I've been an Annihilator fan for a LONG LONG time. They were one of those early bands I found on my own in the early days of discovery. I'll listen to just about anything Jeff does (minus Remains......egads, that album was a mess). _________________ What a strange, strange freedom. Only free to choose my chains.
