i went to Skegness on saturday and in thos awesome record shop they have their i spotted this metallica dvd i did not recognise it. it was only 6.99 so i picked it up.

it seems to be a bootleg dvd as while it is professionally filmed the quality has suffered over the years since it was put on dvd

does anyone know if it was an official release or part of the live box set. my copy seems to be made by a german company

the sound is good quality compared to the picture and has an awesome set list with every metallica song you could possibly want to hear.

the band are on fire of course as usual so no complaints with the show

the camera angle jumps around a lot all the time from shot to shot but it is not a major problem i think

there is nothng in the way of special features at all except for song select

Sounds like a boot to me. Metallica wouldn't throw something out there with sub-par picture quality and no special features.

The San Diego show was part of the "Live Sh*t Binge and Purge" box set. I think the show was shot horribly. It seems like everything was in slow motion. Now, you compare that to the show shot in Seattle off the "Justice" tour, the Seattle show is light years better.

Funny enough, I believe both shows were shot by the legendary Wayne Isham? The twp great moment of the San Diego show was when you had the two drum sets, and Lars and James would have their drum offs. The best part was when Lars would run from one side of the stage to the other during a break in drums during the "Four Horsemen", and get there just in time to keep the flow going w/out a hitch. Sadly, they would end up dumping "The Four Horsemen" for "Nothing Else Matters", because the single had just come out. Of all songs to get rid of from the setlist, this was not the one.

Here is the video that I'm talking about w/Lars. It sends the proverbial tingles up & down the spine. Lars covers some amazing ground from the 2:05 mark up until the 2:14 mark. It was a travesty when they took this out of the setlist for the black tour. SHAME ON YOU METALLICA!

Never liked that San Diego video (although Lars running across the stage is cool)...would love to have another copy of the Seattle show but I'm not paying full price for that box set to get it.

Yep it is a bootleg of an official release, which really sucks. Even Bootleggers have gotten lazy when they are releasing material that has been out in the market place for close to 20 years.
