| The first band was called Dezperadoz from Heidelberg Germany. They play an interesting Western Metal with a Cowboy outfit on stage. Well, the music was interesting, because I never heard this kind of music before. My wife liked the music very much, for me they were ok. But what was really good that they didn’t take themselves too serious, had a lot of fun and they are really funny guys. Before they finished their set, Frank Bindig form Edenbridge entered the stage with a bottle of Wodka. While the Dezperadoz were playing, Frank handed the bottle to the lips of the Dezperadoz, one by one and they took a big gulp. If you are interested in the music of the band check this out: http://13119.webhosting4.1blu.de/home.html http://www.myspace.com/dezperadoz Next band was Edenbridge from Austria. At the first two songs they had some problems with the microphone so that the vocals of Sabine Edelsbacher were very low. But then the sound technician got it fixed and they hat a very good sound. They have some Nightwish elements in there music, but also an independent style with a strong guitar playing and nice vocals. Before they finished their set, the Dezperadoz picked up the joke of Frank and entered the stage armed with Jack Daniels bottles and revolvers, shooting around and offering the whisky to the Edenbridge musicians. The Edenbridge musicians didn’t want much of the whisky, but that wasn’t a big problem for the Dezparadoz, they drank it themselves. In the break I had a chat with the Dezparadoz, and I must say they are very nice and funny guys. Just joking and celebrating around. Then Rage started to play with an excellent sound. The hall was filled until the last space and the crowd went crazy celebrating their heroes. Above the drum kit of André Hilgert hang a big fossilized Soundchaser head. The set list was very varied with old and new songs. Peavy, Victor and André had a lot of fun and played the songs with enthusiasm. The guitar solo of Victor wasn’t from this earth – awesome. Before the end of the set, the Dezparadoz entered again the stage with their guns and whiskey bottles, and had a party with Peavy, Victor and André on stage. When the set of Rage was finished, the crowd hadn’t to wait very long and they played 2 songs encore. But not enough with that, they entered the stage again together with the Dezperadoz and played together Highway to Hell. Here is the complete setlist of Rage: Carved In Stone Drop Dead! Under Control Soundchaser Days Of December Refuge Lord Of The Flies Dies Irae Beauty One More Time Lost In The Void No Regrets Guitar Solo Victor Unity Down Set This World On Fire Drum Solo André Medley: Long Hard Road/Higher Than The Sky/Don’t Fear The Winter Encore: Open My Grave Straight To Hell 2nd Encore: Highway To Hell (together with the Dezperadoz) |
