| Nice! Told you Papa Roach put on a great show. I've been a fan since their Five Tracks Deep EP, so I may be a bit biased, but I think they've grown into a great live band. Back in the day, not so special. But when I saw them a few years back, I was blown away at how much better they'd gotten. Goose bump good, you know, that sort of live energy. Anyway, sounds like a great show either way! Nice write-up, too! _________________ "Happy people have no stories." —Therapy?

| | Just got back from CrueFest in Albuquerque last night. The show rocked! I have to say that Trapt and Sixx A.M. were the least lively of the bands to play and I was beginning to get a bit worried that maybe I should have saved my $$ but when Papa Roach hit the stage they really brought it. I was completely in the dark about this band and really surprised at how good a performance they put on. Buckcherry was predictable but put on a good show, they played the songs you would expect. They did a kind of funky intro to Crazy smurfette and drug that song out for over 10 minutes with an interlude that played a bit of the old Billy Squire song The Stroke. Crue blasted into their set and never really slowed down until Tommy came out with his Tit E. Cam and talked girls into showing what they had for the big screens. At least it was entertaining. Mick did a five minute guitar solo that climaxed with his rendition of Voodoo Child. Two new songs Saints of Los Angeles and MFOTY, the rest were classics from Too Fast for Love thru Dr. Feelgood era Crue. They closed the show with Home Sweet Home. It was a good show, the crowd was too drunk, I saw some jackass passed out on the trail out and too many people barely able to walk much less able to remember the show but what the heck, I made it home with my family and we have the memories and pictures. I just might go again next year if I can afford it. |
