| Well. It's the new single from the upcoming disc 'Snakes and Arrows'. According to the many quotes from the band, they focused more on having fun and recorded everything live. They went for vibe and feel, not precision and perfection. The song opens up with a heavy riff, both Alex and Geddy playing the same parts. The production is much cleaner than Vapor Trails. The sound is more spaced out and not quite as condensed. The drums have good sound. The chorus has a nice hook with guitar synth I'm sure. No guitar solo, but I'll survive. Lyrically very positive. This is Rush 2007, not 1977. Without change one cannot grow, the energy here is infectious. Not to be listened to just once. (by the way I'd didn't like Vapor Trails as much as I hoped and Test for Echo was spotty at best.) The vibe is very much in the same vein as their last 3-4 discs, but it just has a better feel. Cool stuff as I've listened to it 30+ times so far. |

| The Vapor Trails album has some great music on there but is mastered / mixed horribly (Loud with noticible audio defects). Far Cry is a return to forum in my opinion for the band. It is great that they are featuring Alex's guitar more again. _________________ - Joe

I couldn't agree more. You probably read the same article I did about the horrible mastering job on 'Vapor Trails'.... the first time I heard it, it sounded like mud.... |
