| So I picked up their cd "Strange House" on the merit of catching a video by them on IMF... Boy, does it rock. Not metal at all but if you like any of the following bands/artists then it just may appeal to you... CRAMPS, THE DAMNED, AGENT ORANGE, ? & THE MYSTERIONS, BAUHAUS, THE CURE, THE METEORS, TALL BOYS, THE BIRTHDAY PARTY, NICK CAVE & THE BAD SEEDS,DICK DALE.... Opening with a cover of the Screaming Lord Sutch song "Jack The Ripper" that snakes and swaggers through piss reeking London alleyways...barked vocals and lurching organ....primo!! "Count In Fives" is a splendid 2nd track (and the song I saw the video for and immeadiately got the cd)...Hammond organ riff and punky delivery with sixties garage shout back vocals.... The rest of the cds 11 tracks are just a brilliant- skirting the lines of genre and becoming a cacophony of goth, surf, rockabilly and punk with reckless abandon... fan-f'intastic!!!!! _________________ "Yes, I'm a sack of broken eggs I always have an unmade bed Don't you?" |

| Yeah definately, a great band. They seem to dredge up the most obscure influences in their music, they are real 60's garage punk worshippers. Obviously Count in Fives is a direct tribute to 60's garage punkers the Count Five who are in my opinion the best 60's garage punk band (sorry ? and the mysterians and aussie legends the missing links). And isn't the front cover striking, it bares a huge resemblance to the New York Dolls s/t debut (what with all that big hair, couch and black n' white photo).
