| OH MAN! This is freakin' phenominal! This is exactly what I've been looking for: dynamic, technical, but aggressive thrash with a little power metal epicness (if that's a word?).
It boggles my mind how Ultimatum isn't huge all over the place right now. I'm looking at this album as a classic.
The production's awesome. There's nothing I hate more than technical albums with bad production; I wanna hear the double-bass! Well, this one delivers. Speaking of that, thanks for so much double-bass! I love it. The double-bass spurts in "Heart of Metal" had my jaw dropped.
Other favourites are "Exonerate". What a furious, brutally fast tune. The lead break in "Blind Faith" is absolutely sick. You guys truly are incredible musicians. Scott, did such a good job on "Wrathchild". I love that scream/moan during the solo/interlude section. Did you put some kind of effect on your voice? Outstanding. The title track is also wicked awesome. I'm particularly fond of instrumentals, as they add such an interesting texture to albums (especially in this case, when it's followed by a monster tune).
I need to get every Ultimatum album. This is pure metal mayhem! Great music guys! |

| I also got the 2 I ordered. One of them is for a cousin, but before that, I lend it to another friend, and he love it. _________________

| Well, after posting on no life till metal for a while now I have only just got around to purchasing Into the Pit. Don't really know why it took me so long it's been on my wanted list for ages. Well I have to say this CD is awesome. I can't believe I've missed out on this for so long. Its the only Ultimatum CD I own and it has made me now want to go and search out past releases. Seriously this album is brilliant, huge great riffs and the solo's are so cool. I only got it in the post today and i've only been home from work for a couple of hours and already it's on it's third spin. I have a couple of questions. 1: before I dive in and purchase the entire back catalogue I have read another thread about into the pit being re released witha bonus track. Is their any re releases I should be aware of regarding previous albums. 2: when the hell are Ultimatum gonna get over to the UK, I seriously need to see you guys live. _________________ THE GODS MADE HEAVY METAL!!! |

Thanks bro. Glad you are digging the CD!
1. Our first and third album have been re-mastered and re-released in limited edition runs of 2000 each. They both have three bonus tracks on them. They are pretty widely available.
Our second CD "Puppet of Destruction" and our 2006 EP "Til the End!" have not been re-released and are out of print. However, we do have copies of Puppet of Destruction for sale if you are interested.
2. We would LOVE to go over to Europe. Absolutely! I really hope it happens in the next year or so. We've had some inquiries about playing some festivals over there, but nothing concrete yet. _________________

I missed this question the first time around. No, there are not really any special effects other than some delay and probably reverb. Those are pretty standard effects on most recorded vocals. T _________________

Cheers for answering my questions Ult. I'm off on holiday on saturday for 2 weeks but when I get back I will be ordering the albums. I have found puppet of destruction and the remastered symphonic extremities on the internet but cannot find the mechanics of perilous times. I Live in the UK and have tried several internet sites I know but no luck. Even a couple of US sites I know don't have it in stock, any suggestions??? _________________ THE GODS MADE HEAVY METAL!!! |
