PostSubject: Into The Pit   Fri Oct 26, 2007 11:05 am

This is really a great metal CD. I've been listening to it almost(*) non-stop for a week and a half, often have the songs in my head when I'm not listening to it, and now it's in my girlfriend's car and she's hooked and reluctant to give it back. ;-)

Well done, guys!

It's interesting to get to hear these songs on CD after hearing them live for so long. I'm picking up things that I don't really notice at a live show.

(*) Something funny happened. After listening to it, with "Game Over" running through my head, I had an urge to listen to "The Art of Dying" by Death Angel. Try that sometime (listen to Into the Pit and The Art of Dying back-to-back), for a surprise. ;-) I bet this sort of thing happens happens a lot. I remember Mark Briody's surprise when someone mentioned one of his song's (on "Mechanized Warefare" I think?) connection to Metallica's "Creeping Death." ;-)

*runs to get The Art Of Dying*

I put off ordering Into The Pit for awhile because Ultimatum were going to play locally and I figured I would just wait to get it when I saw them. I'm glad I finally ordered it because the concert has been postponed. Plus it kicks major booty.

I got it in yesterday and have played it several times already. I think this album puts Ultimatum up to a whole new level.

Hello and welcome...err, Sloppy! LOL! Glad to see you here bro, I hope you stick around for sure.

I got As Above - So Below last month from Deliverance, and thought it
was great, and still do. I just got Perilous Times about a month before
that, which was my first listen to Ultimatum, then, Puppet of
Destruction.

Well, Into The Pit comes out and just SHREDS ME! Maybe the others got
me primed for Into The Pit, but I think its awesome. Best thrash
release of 2007 IMO. I'd love to see them live. Maybe some day they'll
tour the Midwest with like....Demon Hunter or As I Lay Dying or
something?!?!?!!?!? fainting

Welcome, Sloppy!

I am also having the same experiences with Into The Pit as you are. I'm constantly humming along to the tunes, even if the CD is not on! And what I also like so much is that I am hummig along to several tunes from the CD, not just 1 in particular. My favorites these days are Exonerate and Blind Faith, but in truth I love 'em all!

Just got mine out of the mailbox not five minutes ago. The
remastering was very well done from what I can tell so far.

It's wierd - we have been begging for this for so many years, now it is
in my hands. I pm'd Scott to see if it was ok to start begging
for a new album now. haha

Btw, thanks for the thanks, ult. Very cool of you. And the dedication to Zac was the pinacle of class.

Cool. Glad you saw that. Hope you don't mind I used Uncle Saxon instead of your real name. It's just how I know you.

The best stuff you guys have ever done hands down. The production way is better than the other discs.

Also, the artwork is awesome. Kudos to Rex on that one. One of my favorite christian metal album covers. Or any cover for that matter.

ult, since I never have had a CD of a band I have been in, do you listen to Into The Pit and critique it at all, or are you completely statisfied with it?

No, I'm never completely satisfied with anything I do. I am always
listening with a critical ear. However, I do really enjoy this album.
Unlike our past CDs where I listened to them over and over again in the
studio while recording and while mixing, this CD, I wasn't present for
most of the recording or mixing and didn't listen to the rough mixes
until I was sick of them. So, I've had the CD in my car for weeks and
listen to it several times a week. I'm really enjoying it more than I
have ever enjoyed one of my own CDs.

That's awesome. I would be really critical of myself. But really, I don't hear much if anything to complain about with Into The Pit. You guys honestly stepped it up on this one. Top five release of the year for me....

I've always thought it was cool that Ult is fan of the band's music. You don't see that much with musicians. It's very cool.

I've had my copy now for nearly a week and it's killer. This is definately your strongest album. When I heard that Ult was using a harsher voice, and reading comparisons to Obituary, I was a little apprehensive, but they work extremely well with the music. The songs stay with you long after the cd is over and I only wish the cd was longer. Unlike the Jacob's Dream cd that was mentioned in another post that overstays it's welcome and seems to go on forever, Into the Pit demands replays. Good job, fellas. I hope that this is the release that gets you the recognition you so richly deserve.

Glad you like it. Not sure where the Obituary comments are coming from. I don't really think the vocals are all that different than on Mechanics, save for the fact that the recording quality and mix is better.

If you get the chance, leave a few words on CDBaby or Amazon.com.
