I'm not positive, but didn't Weezer just do that on their last release? I thought I read that somewhere. I don't know if it was just one song or a couple of 'em, but the band members all switched instruments.
Any Weezer fans out there that can confirm this or am I talking out of my a$$-hat again? |

| An update on the next CD...
We've taken a lot of the suggestions made on this thread to heart and have discussed them. One that I am really pulling for it "Ton of Bricks" by Metal Church. Excellent suggestion. We listened to the song last night at practice together and everyone seems into it. We've also pretty much made up our minds on The Moshketeer's "Locked in Chains". Others being discussed are Saxon 'Denim & Leather' or possibly 'Machine Gun', Exodus 'Thrash Under Pressure', Anvil 'Blood on the Ice', Mortification 'Gut Wrench' or 'Influence', Megadeth 'Motopsycho', Judas Priest 'Steeler', Overkill 'Wrecking Crew' or 'In Union We Stand', AC/DC 'For those About to Rock', Living Sacrifice 'Dealing With Ignorance', Saint 'In the Night' and a bunch of others. Lots to choose from.
Last night we hashed out a thrashed up version of "Armed & Ready" b Michael Schenker Group. I really dig this song. We tuned down to D, sped up the song, added some double bass and thrashier vocals. This song is going to be great.
Others we are for sure about and have already worked out are Metallica "Creeping Death" and Motorhead "Iron Fist". With the Metallica song, we are sticking pretty closely to the original. With "Iron Fist" we are taking some liberties and thrashing the song up a bit. Robert's guitar riff is far heavier than the original.
I'm really looking forward to this next recording. No dates yet on recording, but I hope it will be in the next couple months. I will keep you all informed.

| After Forever is a great song, but it's been covered by Troglodyte Dawn and Deliverance, among others.
The other two are interesting choices.

| I like "Moto Psyco" it has a great rythm section and though it would be cool But remember I have to learn all this stuff so Im not going to pick a really technical song my mind is trying to absorb all thsi stuff but Megadeth will be on there be it this song or something else...
I also suggested "For those about to Rock" by AC/DC and I already leaned that song we havent practiced with it yet but I'm thinking of having it played detuned to D to chunk it up. Might be too long too though but we'll see. |
